The Rural Water Technology Alliance (RWTA) was formed in 2004 for the purpose of providing education, support and soliciting funding for the modernization of rural water delivery systems. The organization is a non-profit (pending) corporation. The principals have a background working with rural water organizations in Utah to modernize rural canals with computerized automation equipment.

With the spread of computers and the exploding popularity of the Internet, RWTA believes that rural water delivery groups could benefit from an organization that could provide the following services:

» Planning Assistance – What technologies are available? What are the costs involved?
» Funding – Alerts when grants become available. Help writing proposals to state and federal agencies.
» Technical Support – A source of technical support for hardware and software problems.
» Publications – Publication of a newsletter, website, and on-line technical documents.
» Lobbying – Direct lobbying at the state and federal level for funding of rural water automation work?
